Films tell us a story and we want to know yours. The Internet College is dedicated to promoting young, innovative talent in all forms and now the #5MinutesofFrame Smartphone Filmmaking Challenge aims to bring forward this concept through the mode of Smartphone Filmmaking. Smartphones are changing the world as we know it. We are documenting our lives almost every day by uploading pictures online and even more so through stories and live videos. Everyone can be a filmmaker and that is the message 5 Minutes of Frame aims to spread. We invite potential filmmakers to enter the #5MinutesofFrame Smartphone Filmmaking Challenge- Innovative Filmmaking in the Digital Age.

  • Films must be original content and not priorly used in any form.
  • Films must be shot entirely using a Smartphone and should not exceed 5 minutes (including credits).
  • Film content should not contain violence, obscenity or disrespect any communities or individuals.
  • All participants and cast must consent to filming and adhere to all viable laws and regulations.
  • The Internet College has the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify films which do not comply with the above or which contain inappropriate content.
  • Credits must acknowledge that the film was conceptualized for #5MinutesofFrame Smartphone Filmmaking Challenge as an initiative of The Internet College.
  • All participants must be fully conscious of their own personal safety and of those involved in filming and shall bear full responsibility of any mishaps whatsoever.
  • All participants be in compliance that once submitted, the film shall be property of The Internet College.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    What are the prizes ?
    The top three films will receive cash prizes of INR 10,000. There will also be prizes of appreciation for films in selected categories.
    What should the length of the film be ?
    The film should be no more than 5 minutes, including the end credits.
    Which language should my film be in ?
    The film can be in either Hindi or English.
    Do I credit the Internet College in my film?
    Yes, you must include that the film was conceptualized for #5MinutesofFrame Smartphone Filmmaking Challenge as an initiative of the Internet College, affiliated to the Mathematical Sciences Foundation.
    On what basis will my film be judged and by whom?
    Films will be judged on all parameters- camerawork, lighting, technology, creativity, editing etc. All films will be viewed by the preliminary jury, after which the shortlisted films will be judged by prominent jury members at the virtual event.
    What equipment do I use to shoot my film?
    The entire film must be shot using a smartphone.
    What is the registration fee?
    There is no registration fee.
